Tiffin-Seneca United Way has announced that their 2023-2024 Community Campaign, themed “We all need somebody to lean on,” has fallen short of its annual goal. As a result, TSUW has extended the campaign end date to June 30 to allow for additional fundraising.

“Although we haven’t reached our funding goal this year, we remain committed to supporting our nonprofit partners who are helping local families in need,” said David Stover, TSUW board president. “We are very grateful for the support we’ve received from businesses and individuals thus far, and we hope that this extension will give more donors an opportunity to make a contribution.”

The Community Campaign reached 85% of the annual goal following the traditional end date of April 30. The campaign received donations from 183 individual donors and 143 corporate donors and workplace campaigns, with 458 employees giving through their workplace.

In March, Duck, Duck, Donate netted more than $4,000 for the campaign as sponsors backed 142 rubber ducks in a race down the Sandusky River.

Nikki Distel, who was named development director for Tiffin-Seneca United Way in April, recently presented Impact Awards to 16 of United Way’s exceptional donors and supporters in the community. A list of the 2024 Impact Award recipients can be found at tiffin-seneca-unitedway.org/impact-awards.

“I’m really enjoying getting out and meeting the people who make our work possible and showing them our appreciation in this small way. I see firsthand every day how generous and supportive our community is and I’m confident we are headed in the right direction,” Distel said.

Donations to the Tiffin-Seneca United Way Community Campaign stay in Tiffin and Seneca County, funding programming for more than 20 primary and associate nonprofit partners working to fill the community with successful children, healthy families, and self-sufficient residents.
