Policy Statement on Diversity
The Tiffin-Seneca United Way (TSUW) respects the rights of all people in our community. TSUW reaffirms its commitment to cultural diversity through a diverse non-paid and paid work force that reflects the make-up of our community.
The TSUW will ensure fair and impartial treatment in our employment practices, volunteer recruitment and involvement and services to our community members.
We will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, age, sexual preference, or national origin, nor against any qualified disabled individual, or veteran, or on any other basis protected by state or local laws.
Our commitment to diversity applies to fair treatment in recruitment, placement compensation, promotion, training, transfers, layoffs, termination, education, and social recreational programs.
The TSUW shall advocate the value of diversity and support its achievement by providing for training and development for paid and volunteer staff; ensuring awareness of diversity issues and laying the groundwork for a diverse and open organization.
The TSUW shall ensure that its programs and services provided to the community are non-discriminatory and non-exclusionary in nature; and where necessary shall deliver services in the manner most appropriate to the client or customer.
We, the members of the Board of Directors of the TSUW pledge our support to this program and require the support of each leadership volunteer and paid supervisor to ensure continuation of our commitment to cultural diversity for the betterment of the United Way organization.
