Nikki Distel is New Development Director for Tiffin-Seneca United Way
The board of directors for Tiffin-Seneca United Way has selected Nikki Distel as the organization’s new development director. Distel joined TSUW in 2022 as office manager and has been instrumental in maintaining stability for the local nonprofit agency and their partners through a period of reorganization and revival. “Nikki has been a constant force in supporting our efforts and in her dedication to the mission of Tiffin-Seneca United Way,” said David Stover, TSUW board president. “We are eager to see her take on this new role and continue to grow in it.”
Distel and her husband Michael live in Tiffin with their three children. Distel serves on the boards of several local organizations, including Seneca County Young Professionals, Tiffi Seneca Heritage Festival, Downtown Business Enhancement, and Seneca County Family and Children First Council. “I love the small-town feel Tiffin has; everyone is always welcoming and willing to help,” Distel said. “I’m excited to strengthen the connections I have and make new relationships that will extend the reach of United Way in Seneca County.”
As development director, Distel will develop and manage workplace campaigns with local businesses, coordinate fundraising events, and build relationships with Seneca County donors and community impact partners. The consultancy partnership between TSUW and United Way of North Central Ohio will help facilitate this focus, with Distel working as part of the UWNCO Development Team. Distel will remain based in the Tiffin-Seneca United Way offices at 201 S Washington Street in Tiffin, with the UWNCO consultancy taking on administrative support responsibilities.
“As a board, we continually ask ourselves how we can do a better job of connecting the generosity of our donors with the nonprofit agencies who serve the community,” said Stover. “Our ongoing relationship with United Way of North Central Ohio makes this possible, and delivers real results, like our implementation of the 2-1-1 helpline as well as broad internal improvements. We appreciate the opportunity to continue to move forward in partnership with them.”
“The integration of some services with UWNCO will allow Nikki to focus fully on developing local funding in Tiffin and Seneca County,” said Amber Wertman, CEO of United Way of North Central Ohio. “Nikki has been working closely with our organization throughout this consultancy, and we’re excited to have her officially on board the development team!”
Tiffin-Seneca United Way funds more than 20 primary and associate nonprofit partners working to fill Seneca County with successful children, healthy families, and self-sufficient residents. TSUW is committed to their presence and partnerships in the community and will continue to provide updates on improvements at the organization.
